Our independent take on the classic Snake game, with original artwork and a fresh set of controls.

A classic Snake game, ready to grow

Guide your snake around a twenty-by-twenty board and collect the apples. The snake moves forward on its own. Each apple earns one point and adds one segment to its length. Hitting a wall or your own body ends the run.

Our version keeps those familiar rules and adds smooth movement, swipe controls, a large direction pad, and achievement stars. The pace gradually picks up as you eat, then settles at a capped top speed. There is no level break: keep the same run going as long as you can. Fill the whole board to win.

Make the next turn count

Use the arrow keys or W, A, S, and D on a keyboard. On a phone, swipe in the direction you want to turn or tap the direction pad. Quick consecutive turns are buffered, but the snake still makes one turn per grid step. It cannot turn straight back into itself, so use two right-angle turns when you need to head the other way.

Keep a little empty space in front of the head, make wide loops while you can, and watch where the tail is moving. As the snake grows, the space you leave behind becomes just as useful as the apple ahead.

One more apple, one more star

How do I start, pause, or play again?

Choose Play, use a direction key, or tap a direction to begin. Pause with the Pause button, P, or Space. Resume when you are ready. Switching away from the game pauses the run. After a crash, Play again starts a fresh run; Same start lets you retry the opening sequence.

How do mobile controls work?

Swipe across the board to turn, or use the four large direction buttons. The board stays still while you swipe; scroll the page from outside the game. Play opens a larger game view. Use Back or Escape to return to the page.

Why did the snake ignore a turn?

A direction that points straight into the snake’s neck is ignored, as is another press in the same direction. You can queue quick valid turns, but each one happens on a separate step. This keeps a fast double tap from making the snake instantly reverse into itself.

Will my current run save if I leave?

Your current run stays paused while this page remains open. Reloading or leaving the page starts a fresh game. Your best score and achievements save separately in this browser when storage is available. You can still play if your browser blocks saving.
